Change is a natural constant.

Why is change so uncomfortable? Why do we sometimes want to avoid change so much? Take some time to ponder on these questions. I suggest you write these questions down in your notebook and start journaling...

I recently spent quite some time – five months – in a very remote place in the woods of Finland. And I used this time to observe nature. Day after day. The weather was always very different. Every moment is new, unique and was never the same again.

In nature, we can observe cycles – bigger and smaller ones. For example, we have seasons throughout the year, day and night times within a single day, the lunar cycles, the menstrual cycle of the women among us, etc. There is constant change in nature. Nature is ever moving and changing – without interruption, never the same, always new and unique. What if life really is a constant change?

Take a look at the sky. When clouds are present, you can easily observe how quickly changes can take place. From one moment to the next, the shapes will morph and move. You've probably noticed this before, haven't you?

Lately I started to learn more about how to observe the night sky and the cycles happening there. The simplest celestial body for observation would be the moon. Every day the moon has a different shape. Her phases are easy to recognize and change daily throughout the lunar month. Start here. Start by observing an element of your choice to understand how present change is in nature.

Change is a natural constant. Nature is all about constant change. Ever moving, ever evolving.

But why do we as humans have so many problems, feelings of powerlessness and overwhelm when dealing with change? Change can trigger our deepest fears, traumas and horror stories… What happened here?

We no longer feel that change is normal.

The main reason is separation – we are disconnected from ourselves and from nature. We are disconnected from our inner natural self – our spiritual golden spark – so that a true connection to nature cannot take place. Also, we lost our memory of who we actually are. Due to tremendous trauma, dissociation has taken place in order to survive and cope with the horror of being disconnected.

We are all disconnected to varying degrees. Each of us is on an unique journey back to full remembrance. Remembrance is what this is all about. Every path is unique and it must be unique – because your life experiences and traumas are unique. It is an individual journey of remembering and connecting back to your individual unique inner Self. And we are all here to help each other remember what that truly means.

First, we need to restore our own connection within in order to feel and remember the connection with everything around us. Remember: “The only way out is going within.”

We are disconnected from ourselves and from nature and therefore do not realize that change is a normal and natural state.

Change may feel unfamiliar. But in order to grow and evolve, change has to happen. For us, change may feel unknown – but is it really unknown? Or have we forgotten what is actually normal?
